Checking in from Texas Frightmare Weekend #TFW2014

Just a quick, mobile check-in from Texas Frightmare Weekend. I’m here at the Hyatt Regency at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport (DFW) in Grapevine, TX. Strolling around the booths in the Enterprise Ballroom (and trying not to buy something at every one of them), I made it to number 62, the IFC Midnight booth, where I found Travis and Samantha, my horror blogger friends from Horror Movies Uncut, hard at work. [Addendum: they are also covering TFW 2014 on their blog. To follow their coverage, start here.]

And who else, to my pleasant surprise, was hanging out at the same booth? Why, Jill Sixx Gevargizian, producer/director of Call Girl (see my review) and Jerry Pyle, director of Service and Burn (see my review), both up-and-coming indie filmmakers (that’s Frisco Kid’s kid — a possible, future up-and-coming indie filmmaker — in the pic with us).

There’s still one night and Sunday left in TFW 2014, so anybody in the area who’s interested should check it out. Tonight, for example, the international premiere of Kurando Mitsutake’s Gun Woman (starring Asami) is happening (don’t think Frisco Kid’s daughter’s gonna see it, though).
